Getting Started

SingleDraft is a legal writing assistant that runs inside Microsoft Word. It adds a sidebar to your Word environment with tools for document review, drafting, and knowledge reuse. You stay in control of the document at all times.

  1. Install SingleDraft. Your IT administrator can deploy the add-in firm-wide through the Microsoft 365 admin center. Individual users can also side-load the add-in manually. See the Installation Guide for both options.

  2. Open a document in Microsoft Word. Look for the SingleDraft tab in the top ribbon. Click it to open the sidebar.

  3. Create an account or sign in. The sidebar will prompt you to authenticate. Your firm may use SSO through Microsoft Entra ID.

SingleDraft provides the following capabilities through the Word sidebar. Each feature is documented in detail.

Automatically finds all defined terms in your document. Select any term to see its definition in the sidebar. The system highlights inconsistent capitalization, unused definitions, and duplicate definitions. See Definition Tracking.

Validates your document against a set of rules for legal writing. Checks cover formatting issues (double spaces, unbalanced brackets), content issues (invalid dates, placeholder text left in), and external data validation (company name correctness, IBAN format). See Checks.

A context-aware AI chat integrated into the sidebar. It reads the open document and can access your internal knowledge base. Use it to iterate on clauses, find typos, extract information, or translate text. You choose the language model and can save reusable prompts as shortcuts. See AI Assistant.

Search your firm’s past documents by keyword or meaning. SingleDraft uses a combination of traditional and semantic search to find relevant clauses. You can filter by language, jurisdiction, contract type, and other metadata. See Use Your Internal Knowledge.

Look up company details from public registers (Companies House, commercial registers) directly from the sidebar. Available for companies in CH, CZ, SK, HR, GB, and PL. See External Information.

Insert pre-made placeholder blocks and signature pages into your document. SingleDraft detects parties from the document text and pre-fills the signature fields. See Blocks.

Generate a structured table of tracked changes and comments from your document. Filter by author, date range, and content type. Export in multiple languages. See Schedule of Issues.

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. AI providers process data within the EU, and no document data is used for model training. See SingleDraft Security for full details.
